Description
Sustainable, High-Quality Compost
This compost is crafted entirely from:
- Wood Fines: Screened material from whole-tree arboreal chip. Rich in lignin, it creates a spacious and ideal environment for fungi to thrive and feed.
- Brash: Twigs and leaves from trees and shrubs, offering a natural source of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium (NPK)—essential nutrients for plant growth.
We enhance our biochar by inoculating it with microbes from previous compost batches. This is achieved by incorporating mature compost or compost tea, jump-starting the microbial activity in each new batch.
All materials are responsibly sourced from trees and plants that are dead, dying, or overgrown. None are taken from agroforestry operations. We prioritize sustainability, sourcing everything within a 25-mile radius of the compost site.
Compost Monitoring and Quality Control
The composting process is closely monitored using key metrics:
- Temperature
- Moisture
- Carbon Dioxide and Oxygen Levels
Based on these readings, the compost is turned or irrigated only as necessary, minimizing disturbance to encourage optimal microbial activity. We also regularly measure microbial presence to ensure the compost’s vitality.
Trusted by Organic Growers
Our compost’s provenance is well-documented, from the source materials to the precise conditions of its creation. This attention to detail has made it a favorite among specialist organic growers, who return time and time again for its reliable quality.
